RUTH D. HANDEL is a writer, poet and teacher. She teaches poetry writing workshops, presents her poems in many New York venues, and manages the Poetry Caravan, a volunteer organization that brings poetry to the community. Her poems have been published in literary journals and in a chapbook, Reading the White Spaces. She is professor emerita, Montclair State University, where she taught literacy and literature for twenty years. Her Ph.D. is from Columbia University.
