Charles Coleman's written music has been performed by the Symphony orchestras of Cincinnati, San Fransisco, New Jersey and many other orchestras and ensembles both here and abroad. His work "Absolution" is featured on an album of the same name by the chamber group Absolute Ensemble which has been Grammy nominated for 'Best Small Ensemble Recording' in 2002. He is a recipient of the 'Meet the Composer Music Alive' grant and the German Record Critics' Award. As a performer, Coleman has worked with many new music groups including Composers Concordance, Golden Fleece Ltd. performing both contemporary and repertoire opera and vocal works in the Tri-state area. He is a regular teacher of music appreciation at Greenwich House Center in Lower Manhattan.
