ANTHONY W. ROBINS is an historian and writer specializing in New York City architecture. During a twenty-year stint at the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission he served as Deputy Director of Research and Director of Survey; his work in historic preservation won him a "Rome Prize" from the American Academy in Rome in 1997. Robins currently teaches at NYU and Columbia University, lectures nationally and internationally, and consults on historic preservation projects. He is also the author of books on Grand Central Terminal, the World Trade Center, and the art and architecture of the New York subway system. His most recent book, published in 2017, is New York Art Deco: A Guide to Gotham’s Jazz Age Architecture. A popular leader of walking tours all over New York City, he was honored with the 2017 Guiding Spirit Award by the Guides Association of New York City.
