Instructor Biography: Mark Grant
MARK N. GRANT won a special 2006 Friedheim Award for his orchestral cantata, The Rose of Tralee. He is the author of two ASCAP Deems Taylor Award-winning books, Maestros of the Pen: A History of Classical Music in America and The Rise and Fall of the Broadway Musical. A pianist and organist, Grant is also Vice-President of The International Percy Grainger Society in White Plains and author of many articles and program notes for the Kurt Weill Foundation. He has been a frequent annotator and musical journalist for Opera (UK), NewMusicBox, the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, and other publications. His music appears on Albany Records.
