Eve Ensler is the Tony Award winning playwright, activist and author of the theatrical phenomenon, The Vagina Monologues, which has been published in 48 languages and performed in over 140 countries and recently heralded by The New York Times as one of the most important plays of the past 25 years, among numerous other honors. She is founder of V-Day, the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. She was named one of Newsweek’s “150 Women Who Changed the World” and The Guardian’s “100 Most Influential Women.” Her latest book, The Apology, is a fictional reckoning of the sexual and physical abuse she suffered at the hands of her deceased father, written as though he had delivered the message she longed to hear. Remarkable and original, The Apology is an acutely transformational look at healing and re-emerging from the wounds of sexual abuse.
