Instructor Biography: Jennifer Krause
JENNIFER KRAUSE is a rabbi and author. She wrote The Answer: Making Sense of Life, One Question at a Time (2007), and has been featured in Newsweek, The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Daily Beast, Time.com and O, the Oprah Magazine. Krause’s work also appears in O’s Big Book of Happiness (Oxmoor House) and O’s Little Guide to Finding Your True Purpose (Flatiron Books). Dubbed “one of NYC’s Hippest Rabbis” and “the Jewish Katie Couric” by WNET’s MetroFocus, Krause served as the High Holidays rabbi at Manhattan’s 92Y, and was the first woman to hold that post in 92Y’s 145-year history. She frequently appears as a host, presenter and moderator at 92Y, sharing the stage in conversation with a diverse array of thought leaders, artists, and innovators. Krause also is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations Religion and Foreign Policy Initiative, a network of religious and congregational leaders, scholars, and thinkers of all backgrounds and affiliations who come together for nonpartisan, cross-denominational conversations on global issues. Krause received her BA, with Honors, from Washington University in St. Louis, and an MA and Rabbinic Ordination from the Hebrew Union College­-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in Jerusalem and New York.
