MARTIN MERCHANT has had two careers: the first as a professional photographer for 20 years, and a second as a high school digital media art teacher in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Retiring in 2015, he has devoted his time to teaching adults all aspects of digital imaging and editing, and to studying the expressive power of graffiti and street art and the richness of its history and meaning. He continues to be very active in the New York State Art Teachers Association, giving conferences and professional development workshops on digital imaging and street art. | |
