Walking Tour: Transformation of the Hudson River Waterfront

Once a busy turn-of-the-twentieth-century port, the Hudson waterfront fell into disrepair by the 1970s before being reimagined in the 1990s as a destination for New Yorkers and visitors. This tour begins at the 1910 Chelsea Piers, the Titanic’s planned arrival point which now a sports and media complex, then follows Hudson River Park stopping at the revitalized Pier 57 and Little Island, and ending at the Gansevoort Peninsula and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
