Make Way for Berthe Weill: Art Dealer of the Parisian Avant-Garde, running October 1, 2024 through March 1, 2025, surveys the groundbreaking career of the first woman modern art dealer. Overcoming sexism and antisemitism, Weill (1865–1951) successfully promoted many fledgling masters of modern art, including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, and Amedeo Modigliani. The exhibition highlights her contribution to the history of modernism by featuring 80 works, many of which had been shown at her gallery during the first four decades of the twentieth century.
