Restorative Stretch, a Proactive Approach to Stress and Pain

« back to classes page
Learn three modalities to reduce stress, pain, and improve posture. First, stationary non-impact dynamic joint warm ups will lubricate the joints, increase body awareness, and stimulate local ligaments. Second, myofascial stretching helps lengthen the connective tissue surrounding the bones, muscles, and organs to improve joint function, reduce pain, and increase circulation. Third, ELDOA -- exercises that use the fascial lines to create global tension -- improves joint mechanics, increases blood flow, reduces pressure on the discs, reduces pain, rehydrates spinal discs, and improves posture. All of these modalities require rhythmic breathing and reinforce body awareness to stimulate the motor cortex and collectively improve one's sense of well-being. These are great tools for self-care and stress management.
