Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers (April 18, 2025 through January 18, 2026) highlights the paintings, photographs, large-scale sculptures, and videos from this Chicago-born contemporary artist and scholar of art history. Working across disciplines including philosophy, literature, and music, Johnson's art explores his personal past and identity within the larger context of African American intellectual and creative history. This major solo exhibition includes almost 90 works, from black-soap paintings and spray-painted text to Sanguine, a monumental site-specific installation on the building’s top ramp with an embedded piano for musical performances.
