Situated at the intersection of law and medicine, these subjects have captivated modern intellectual debate. Through a combination of legal texts, medical writings, and commentary, focus on the current scope of reproductive rights, recent innovations in genetic science, the fierce debates surrounding vaccines, informed consent in populations with special needs, and contentious end-of-life issues. All topics will be examined through the lens of bioethics, including principles of patient autonomy, risk-benefit analysis, and justice. Attain an analytical framework for understanding these complex and nuanced topics. Reading materials and suggested questions for discussion will be provided in advance.
