Master the basics of watercolor with lessons in color theory and painting techniques. Drawing lessons will also be incorporated into instruction. Through demonstration, learn how to paint from a still life and reference photos. All levels welcome.
Sugested Materials List - Please bring in what you have around.
Graphite Pencils: One 2H and HB pencil.
Paper: 140 lb cold press watercolor paper.
-Brands can be - Canson XL or Arches 140 lb paper, cold pressed paper. Feel free to bring in your favorite paper.
Paints: Watercolor set. At least the three primaries, red, blue and yellow. At least 6-8 colors.
Brushes: round brushes - #2, #4, #8. Maybe some larger and smaller - whatever you have. Optional: A few larger flat brushes
Palette / Mixing: Ceramic palette or a palette you use, cup for water
Erasers: PRISMACOLOR Kneaded Rubber Eraser
Sharpener: Any Graphite Pencil Sharpener or one - Kum Long Point Sharpener- Blue (color) - found on Amazon or Jerry’s Artarama.
Optional: Support/Drawing board: A foam board or any hard surface to support your drawing. This is an example - Blick Sketch Pad Board 15" x 16"
Additional/optional- Masking tape or Artist’s tape, 12 inch ruler, white gouache, paper towels
