ClassGraphic Running October 12, 2025 through January 19, 2026, Divine Egypt assembles nearly 250 deity-themed works of art from museums across the globe. Imagery associated with the more than 1,500 gods in ancient Egypt's belief system include representations of the stately, falcon-headed Horus, the lion-headed Sakhmet, and the serene, shrouded Osiris. Egyptians believed that through depictions in tombs, temples, and shrines, the gods could enter sacred spaces and become active divine participants in human rituals. Subtle visual cues like what a figure wore, how they posed, or the symbols they carried helped identify them and their roles. The exhibit reveals the many roles the deities played in people’s lives, providing them with meaning in front of life’s uncertainties and the permanence of death.
