Take an in-depth look at every city that has ever hosted an American or National League team franchise in Major League Baseball. Examine their ballparks, past and present, with fully illustrated slides, including rare images, and discuss the stadiums' architecture and their chronology. Along the way, explore the history of baseball and the role that the sport played in the formation of the modern American city (and two in Canada). Some will be brief overviews whereas others, such as New York and Chicago, will be more extensive. This lecture series is suitable for those who know very little about professional baseball as well as the most die hard fans. Appreciate the importance of baseball to American urban history and gain great travel tips for those who like to include ballparks on their itineraries.
