ID : 13694

« back to classes page
Examine the artist’s struggle for success and the many challenges one must face in order to “make it” through the lens of three contemporary novels: Black and White (2007) by Dani Shapiro, Mary Coin (2013) by Marissa Silver, and Self-Portrait with Boy (2018) by Rachel Lyon. Focus on questions such as: What is the relationship between art and morality? What choices must an artist face with respect to a subject’s privacy, truth, feelings? How far should an artist go in the name of ambition?
