View George Braque: Tactile Space, running December 20, 2025 through May 10, 2026 as well as the permanent collection at the Bruce Museum. Georges Braque (1882-1963) coined the term "tactile space" to refer to the distance separating people from objects. His collaboration with Pablo Picasso led to the development of cubism, which compressed multiple perspectives and simplified forms into geometric shapes.  Braque's approach evolved. Over time, he incorporated materials like sand into his pigments, superimposed patterns and textures, uptilted the viewer's perspective in his paintings, as well as translated these techniques into three-dimensional bronzes. Explore this remarkable selection of his art from the Régis Krampf Collection and many other highlights at the Bruce Museum.
