Through lavishly illustrated lectures, compare the three cities as they were in the late eighteenth century. London was the mightiest city on Earth, Paris had many beautiful things set amid its overpowering squalor, and New York was only hinting at what it would become. Discuss the roles of New York and Paris in their respective countries’ revolutions, the close relationship of New York and Paris, and the even closer, if ultimately terribly strained, relationship of New York and London.
